My Journey

My photography journey began as a hobby, purely for me. I quickly realised it was a new way of seeing and discovering and I became totally hooked.

My style is constantly changing and evolving – as are my ‘post‑click’ skills. I now spend as much time refining my images as I do capturing them. I aim to bring each image alive, by trying to re‑create the power and energy that I felt at the time – through my lens.

I want my images to surprise, to stand apart, and to hold the viewer’s gaze for just a second longer.

Joining a local camera club has been an awesome part of this journey. Making new friends who have encouraged and supported me – my learning from them has been immense and I am grateful to them all for helping me grow beyond what I could have imagined was possible.

My photography does drifts between contrasts – sometimes into shadow, sometimes into light. I have been told I am like a butterfly, landing everywhere lol. Is it necessary to have a specific style or genre? I don’t think so – I have come to the conclusion that I will continue to land wherever I want and just be me.

On a slightly more serious note, during my journey I am very proud to have gained a few achievements – click the link below to see more.
